These beautiful hand-crafted gift bags are made from the bark of a mulberry tree which is made into mulberry paper. The handles are made from rope/cording. Natural dried flowers are embedded into the gift bags. Who wouldn't want to receive such a lovely work of art!

Centuries ago, the local hill tribes of Northeastern Burma noticed that the bark of the mulberry tree naturally peeled off from the tree once a year. They discovered that this bark could be made into an all-natural paper without damaging the tree itself. The Thai hill tribe people called this tree "Saa" (The Giving Tree), and the same word is still used today. Thanks to the growing interest in environmentally safe products, the craft of making "Saa" paper still thrives as a flourishing cottage industry. This allows many housewives and elderly people to make their living at home. With every purchase you contribute to the livelihood of many thankful people.
