Discover your wild side! African black soap is a traditional cleanser that has been made in Africa for generation after generation. Each family holds its unique formula, which is secretly passed down.

Our black soap is made in West Africa. Tropically found ingredients such as paw paw fruit, plantain leaves, cocoa pods, coconuts and herbs are burned to an ash and added to locally found oils of palm, sesame, coconut and shea butter. The color of the soap depends on the exact ingredients used to make the soap. Some "black" soap is even white. We find that the best black soap is indeed pure black. Our soap is made in the Yoruba region of Nigeria, famous for true black soap. We use this black soap as a base for our shea butter bath and soap products (most commercial black soaps on the market are just glycerin soaps dyed black).

Black soap works wonders for reducing acne and dark spots as well as smoothing and soothing irritated or dry skin. Shea Terra Organics’ all-natural formulas further the effectiveness of black soap in producing healthier looking skin. Black soap is very potent so a little goes a long way, making it an economical and therapeutic choice for skin care.

To our beloved black soap we've added aloe ferox from South Africa, believed to be the best form of aloe available. We've also included antioxidant green rooibos and anti-bacterial olive leaf. This product smoothes, tones and renews skin. A little goes a long way so this product will last and last.
